Bearing capacity and serviceability of reinforced-concrete structures affected by steel corrosion

Davor Grandić, Dubravka Bjegović, Jure Radić

Abstract

The extent of harmful corrosive action should be known so as to enable proper evaluation of influence the steel corrosion exerts on the bearing capacity and serviceability of reinforced-concrete structures. Methods based on latest research conducted in the scope of European Union research projects, and focusing on the bearing capacity and usability of elements and structures affected by steel corrosion, are presented. Authors propose continuation of the research effort in which Croatian experts and scientists should also take part.
